Unfortunate for the Federation, today the Cardassians are allying themselves with the Dominion of the Gamma Quadrant, the Cardassians have cut themselves off from their neighbors. On the other hand , Cardassian politics have been rather volatile. The Cardassians are a study in contrast, at times coldhearted to the point of ruthlessness and at other times compassionate to the point of sentimentality. The Cardassians have always prided themselves on their intellectual achievements. For instance all citizens enjoy photographic memories as the results of intense mind training programs during early childhood.
