While Soyuz class ships are often mistaken for Miranda Class ships, the differences are more numerous than obvious. The aft cargo hold and shuttle Bay of the Soyuz class is considerably larger than the Miranda class. The Soyuz's shields were also upgraded to make it a more formidable warship. Most notably, the Soyuz class has large weapon suites protruding both above and below the aft quarterdeck. These added weapons give the Soyuz an advantage over the Miranda class in its firepower.
